Craig Maddock is the Head of the Multi-Asset Management Team managing over $120 billion in assets. He started his career in financial services in 1987 and has been with 1832 Asset Management L.P. and its related companies since 1999.

His passion for excellence in managing multi-asset portfolios started from his years working directly with high-net-worth clients as a financial advisor. Understanding what clients want and need from that experience are key inputs into the investment management process guiding the Multi-Asset Management Team today that Craig started to build in 2001.

Craig has worked with the team of portfolio managers and analysts to innovate in the area of total portfolio management. Together, they have developed a leading-edge proprietary process to construct robust portfolios able to address a wide range of client preferences. They manage each portfolio using a combination of investment strategies, styles and the insights of the entire 1832 investment team as well as over 20 external sub-advisors.

In addition, Craig and the Multi-Asset Management Team have developed and manage a series of strategies designed specifically to help enhance portfolio outcomes. Their custom direct managed strategies include a global macro hedge fund, active currency overlays, systematic multi-factor, and liquid and private alternatives funds.

Craig holds a master’s in business administration from Dalhousie University, is a CFA charterholder, a Certified Financial Planner, and a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers.
